I know I have posted many things like this. If you or your family are looking for a pet, check out your local animal shelters! You can find the perfect match! Puppies and kittens are cute, but remember that shelter dogs and cats need someone to love them and take them home also. Puppies from pet stores are a bad idea because most come from puppy mills( see my Say No to Pet Stores post). Dogs from breeders usualy find homes pretty fast and they get to live in a home until they are bought.Give them a second chance! There are so many animals at the shelters that are just waiting to leave. Some don't get a second chance. You can save a life today.You don't have to buy a purebred dog to show in the AKC. The American Kennel Club now has a program for owners and their mixed breed friends to compete called AKC Partners program.
